Reiki and Acupuncture
Both Reiki and Acupuncture work with the Universal life energy so a few note on Acupuncture are included on this page.
WHAT IS CLASSICAL FIVE ELEMENTS ACUPUNCTURE?
Acupuncture is a comprehensive system of medicine which has been used for over 5,000 years. It is a holistic therapy which looks at the body, mind, and spirit as an integrated whole. Thus acupuncture views the patient as a whole and treats not just the symptoms, but the underlying cause of the disease.
WHO BENEFITS FROM ACUPUNCTURE?
Everyone can benefit from it! One does not have to be sick in order to receive treatments. Acupuncture restores the energy balance within the body on the physical, mental and spiritualist level. The patient will feel increased vitality and a greater enjoyment of life as a result.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Chinese discovered that paths of energy (meridians) exist in the body. This network, not very different from the circulatory system, is directly related to the organs of the body. A disturbance in the flow of energy in a pathway will cause an organ to function improperly and disease will result. The acupuncturist can balance the flow of the energy in the meridians by stimulating certain points with needles, thus reliving pain and sickness. The effects of an acupuncture treatment can certainly be felt. Physically, movement or function are regained; mentally, thinking becomes clearer; emotionally, the highs and lows are replaced with a sense of calm and well-being.
WHAT DO TREATMENTS CONSIST OF?
On your first visit, I will do an extensive interview and ask you questions about your health history and your lifestyle. I will further my diagnosis by checking 12 different pulses on your writ to determine a wealth of information about how your body is functioning. This initial consultation takes about 2 hours and includes a detoxifying treatment. Subsequent treatments will last a full hour during which you will have my undivided attention.
DOES ACUPUNCTURE HURT?
Sterile single-use stainless steel needles are used by professions, they are only the size of several strands of hair, and only a tingling sensation may be felt as the energy is redirected through the body. Most patients comment on the feeling of peace they experience after a treatment.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
This will be discussed on your first interview and will depend on the severity, duration and nature of your complaint. Generally 5-10 treatments are needed to stabilize the body into a new level of well-being. It is extremely important to take an adequate amount of treatments in the beginning to obtain the best and most permanent results.
WHAT ABOUT MY DOCTOR?
Classical acupuncture may be used in conjunction with other health care you are receiving. In fact both are very complimentary. Western doctors have noticed the impact of acupuncture in helping with addictions, stress management, mental health issues, pain relief, post operative and chemotherapy recoveries, to name just a few. The WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION recognized over 800 different health conditions successfully treated by acupuncture.
